Yesterday, I spent the day in the city! I’ve been to New York City many times in my life, but since moving farther away from the city, I haven’t gone as frequently as I’d like! I decided to spend the day in the city with one of my best friends in the whole world before heading back to school in a week. We had SO much fun!
The eventful day began with me braving the drive into the city. Now, I learned to drive in rural PA, so four-lane highways coupled with heavy traffic and crazy drivers are not my forte. But, I successfully got us into the city and into a parking garage without beating up my car (yay me)! We spent some time in Times Square and I picked up some Ray Bans that I have been wanting!
We walked through Central Park, which personally, I find to be absolutely beautiful. It’s a complete escape from the concrete jungle and is full of trees, water, beautiful pathways, and performers! We also saw Strawberry Fields, which I had never seen before.
Then, we headed over to Levain Bakery, which let me tell you, if you have never been, it is a MUST! It’s a little hole-in-the-wall kind of place, but boy, is it popular. And for good reason! The cookies are out of this world! I got the classic chocolate chip walnut, but I think any cookie from there would be great.
We then made our way to Greenwich Village to do some shopping and to get a bite to eat. We tried a vegan restaurant called By CHLOE and their food was to die for! We tried the Mac and cheese, guac burger, avocado toast, and sweet potato fries. All of it was incredible! (I totally forgot to take a picture of my food because I was starving).
We walked and talked and shopped for the remainder of the day, making one last stop at Magnolia Bakery (let’s be honest, when in NYC, you must eat until you drop) to try their famous banana pudding. Again, it was amazing!
It was an awesome day, complete with good food and the best company!
